I’ve lived in the area of Butler County, Iowa my entire life and love the beauty of the seasons that we have. I am an avid flower gardener and create confectionary flowers resembling those in my garden. My husband & I enjoy taking care of our 50 X 70 ft. vegetable garden each summer. We enjoy traveling – especially to Texas to visit our daughter Christina, her husband Eric, and of course their two beautiful Shih-Tzu dogs, our “Grand-pups”.
My business is home-based in Parkersburg, Iowa. I began cake decorating in 1975, attending the Wilton School of Cake Decorating just a few months after my daughter was born with thoughts of all the birthday cakes I could create for her. My first project was a 5 tiered wedding cake! Within a short time, I started baking and decorating cakes for our family and for Christina’s class once she started pre-school. Decorating cakes was intended to be a hobby but soon, I was receiving many orders for decorated cakes & cupcakes. I couldn’t do as many as I would have liked as I continued my nursing career once Christina started school. A really busy schedule kept me from doing any cakes for about 7 years. I am now retired from nursing and have resumed baking & decorating cakes which inspired me to start my “Creative Cakes by June” business. There are so many new & exciting things I’ve learned!
Unfortunately, the 250+ pictures of wedding, anniversary, birthday, retirement, holiday, seasonal & special order cakes I’ve done in the past were accidentally destroyed and I only have pictures of recent orders for cakes to put on this web site. My daughter has created this web site for me and will add pictures as they become available.
I am a member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Society) and will attend their conferences to learn new ideas and sensational methods in the world of cake decorating.
